Dancing to End Hunger

Ahavah is performed by members of Ekklesia Contemporary Ballet and Ekklesia School of Ballet. Ahavah is an original ballet written and choreographed by the Artistic Director of ESB and Ekklesia, Elisa Schroth.

Since 2013, Ahavah has donated over $75,000 to the Shoreline Soup Kitchens and Pantries.

Matched by The Gowrie Group each year, these donations provided over 200,000 meals to our neighbors in need! Due to the high cost of food, recent cutbacks, and the rapidly growing need of our community for the meals provided by the SSKP, the SSKP increasingly relies on the income from fundraising events such as Ahavah. This partnership is a wonderful opportunity to meet the needs of hungry families in the Shoreline Community during the Christmas Season.

Ahavah is the Hebrew word for Love. This performance – like love – has been ever evolving over the past 12 years. The show gives a glimpse of the human heart and how God longs to connect with us in a real and intimate way. This show is unique in that each year there is always a new angle to see God’s love; a new lens if you will, to hopefully take us all on a journey into a deeper understanding of the unfathomable and mysterious love of our Creator.
