Fabric Face Masks for Medical Professionals

This page updated on 3/27/2020 @ 9:27 a.m.

At this time many hospitals and organizations are having a mask shortage. On top of asking for donations of masks people may have stocked up on, some have asked for homemade masks. These masks are simple to make but are very helpful to those who need them as protective equipment. At the moment they are used as a crisis response option when all others have been exhausted.

As Doctors and Nurses of all kinds are doing everything they can to keep us safe, they need the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to be able to continue to do so.

Collection Point: Middlesex Hospital

Middlesex Hospital is happy to accept homemade masks that meet certain guidelines. These guidelines help to ensure that the masks will provide proper protection for health care workers. Click HERE for pattern and instructions.

All masks must be dropped off in sealable plastic bags (i.e., Ziploc). There can be multiple masks in each bag.

To arrange for delivery, please call 860-358-6200 or email info@midhosp.org.

Collection Point: Killingworth Town Hall

The Yale-New Haven Health System has requested hand-sewn face masks using the Craftpassion.com face mask sewing pattern.  Donate masks in the bin inside the back door to Killingworth Town Hall - please note that you used this pattern, and the town hall will make sure they get to YNHH. They have also had private requests for masks from nurses and vulnerable civilians, and they will distribute masks made on other patterns to them.

Masks made with the Craftpassion pattern can also be mailed directly to Yale New Haven:

Yale New Haven Health System Regional Operations Center

600 Derby Ave. (Route 34)

West Haven, CT 06516

Email donationsppe@ynhh.org for contact info

Other masks will be accepted but re-distributed to homeless shelters
